WHY WE BELIEVE THIS PROJECT MATTERS

As any other Comenius project ours has its motto: no to obesity. It leads our actions, focuses our activities but much and more underlies our every step. Students and teachers alike have the oportunity to open up to Europe and share their knowledge, experiences, best practices and enthusiasm while enhancing key competencies for life.

COURSE OF ACTION

According to WHO data,  over 3 million people die of illnesses caused by overweight and obesity. It has become a serious problem in western civilization that threatens not only adults but also children and teenagers.

To be or not to be obese aims to make students, parents and local communities aware of this growing problem by working from the inside.

Actions go from the research of eating habits and physical activity in our local communities, to sport promoting, parent awareness and the creation of a wide range of materials suitable for awareness campaigns. By the end of the project, partners will make an original video animation depicting twin brothers with opposed lifestyles whose choices on food and physical activity have led them into quite different physical conditions.

Throughout the process, partners along with their students will share their experiences and knowledge, getting to know each other's local costumes, culture and lifestyle. Europe has never been so close.
