MEETING IN ENGLAND: DEARHAM PRIMARY SCHOOL WELCOMES PARTNERS FROM ITALY, SPAIN AND TURKEY

The third meeting has taken place during these days. Dearham Primary School gave a warm welcome to Turkey, Italy and Spain before starting the activities.

 

Students from Spain, Italy and Turkey showed their presentations on Healthy hbaits  to their peers and then joined local students in the scheduled activities. They learnt first hand about Cumbria cookery, for example. 

 

They took a trip to  the natural reserve of Lake District,  and had the chance to walk the streets of its pintoresque towns. 

 

An unforgettable experience.

 

 

NEXT STOP, ITALY!  SECOND MEETING

31st March 2014

 

Partners met again in Italy from 10 to 13 March. This time, Instituto Comprensivo Enrico Fermi hosted a new partner from Turkey: Kümbet Ortaukulu. Original partners shared the activities they have been doing related to the project and discussed key topics.

Our high-spirited children also participated intensely in every activity, sharing their newly acquired knowledge in healthy habits and putting their language skills to the test.

Key topics addresed went from the results obtained from surveys on healthy habits carried out by partners in their schools to planning future activities and course of action.  Next mobilities were also dealt with as a new parter has just recently joined the Project.  Original partners brought Kümbet Ortaukulu -the new partner- up to date on the Project.

Countdown is over! To be or not to be obese is officially  running

  14th November , 2013

 

Partners primed the pump with a three- day long meeting. This gathering is the first in a series of meetings to take place in each partners' countries.

After lunch and a quick tour around San José School, representatives set the project in motion reaching their first agreements on Monday afternoon. They addressed topics such as a logo contest -the first activity of the project-, distribution of  the mobilities, a survey on healthy habits, etc.

 

The meeting resumed the next day at the school theatre which held a public presentation of the project with the presence of students and the media. Elena Borjabad -head teacher-, along with Ana Giménez -from the Área de Programas Educativos of the Dirección Provincial de Educación- opened the event by presenting the project and its participants: Dearham Primary School (England), Instituto Comprensivo Enrico Fermi (Italia) and Colegio San José (Soria). ´To be or not to be obese addresses one of the most disturbing health problems in our modern world: obesity... The project aims to raise awareness among our students and near environment of this spreading problem so new generations grow healthier', they stated.

It was also pointed out how this European Project will contribute to the acquisition of key compentencies by students and teachers alike along with the European added value.

 

Work schedule continued in the afternoon. Partners addressed the last remaining aspects which will mark the course of action for the next few  months.

 

On Wednesday morning, partners took a trip to San Leonardo and enjoyed a mycological tour. A basket full of mushrooms is worth the effort!

 

Partners continued to presenting their schools and hometowns to the public before enjoying some typical spanish dishes at local restaurant

Walking in the woods can  make anyone feel a little peckish, so parterns gathered for one last lunch together.
